OUR SERVICES
Obstetric Services

An Obstetrician is a physician who specializes in providing medical care for mother and baby during pregnancy.
If you are an expectant mother, Dr van Rooyen will assist you throughout your pregnancy and the delivery of your baby (or babies!). Dr van Rooyen will be available to answer any questions you may have.
A normal gestational period is 40 weeks, calculated from the first day of your last menstrual cycle. Generally, Dr van Rooyen will see you every 4 weeks until you are 32 weeks pregnant, every 2 weeks between 32 and 36 weeks gestation, and then weekly from 36 weeks until delivery.
If you are at high risk, or develop a problem during your pregnancy, more frequent appointments may be necessary. Your health, and the health of your baby, is our number one concern!
Obstetrical Services include
Pregnancy planning
Antenatal screening and counselling
